Home air conditioning - how to choose air conditioning for your home

Why do we need air conditioning
Our well-being is influenced by many factors. On the one hand, there are such obvious matters as whether we are healthy, what we eat, how we sleep, and on the other - what conditions we live in. Often it is the latter that decide about the obvious. Think about the feeling you get when you open the window in a stuffy room, or the relief when the loud music from your neighbors suddenly stops. Feel the difference, right? What pleasure it is to enter an air-conditioned store in hot weather cannot be compared to anything else.

What air conditioning should be installed in the apartment?
The task can be as simple as buying any other household appliance when you opt for a portable air conditioner, or a bit more complicated when you choose a classic fixed installation. The former will work rather in ad hoc situations or when it is not possible to install permanent air conditioning. Its performance is not stunning, its work is quite loud, it also takes up a lot of space in the room and has a pipe that needs to be led outside.

Split wall air conditioning is most often chosen due to the relatively simple installation, reasonable price, appearance and ease of use. In this case, the installation consists of two units connected by a network of pipes:

internal, i.e. a small box hung on the wall of the room, which can be matched to the interior design and style, so as not to disturb its aesthetics; external, usually placed on a balcony, balustrade or on the roof of the building, in which there are elements responsible for air cooling, commonly known as an aggregate. A slightly more complex version is multisplit air conditioning, where one outdoor unit serves several indoor units. So if you want constant air conditioning in every room, this option makes the most sense.

If you cannot hang the air conditioner on the wall under the ceiling, which is often a problem in attic rooms, you can choose the console-type version that is mounted near the floor, e.g. near the radiator. It has two air outlets - the cold one goes upwards and the warm one goes downwards. So it can act both as a cooling and heating, which will be useful in the transition period, when evenings and mornings are crisp.

There are even more advanced installations, such as duct or cassette, but they are installed rather in large rooms, such as shops, hotels or public buildings. They are more efficient, but also much more expensive, and their installation is best planned at the design stage, as they require a lot of construction intervention.

How does air conditioning work in an apartment?
In short, its job is to take warm air from the room and replace it with cool air. The only problem is where to get them, since the air outside is usually even hotter than inside. Cooling the exchanged air is precisely the role of the air conditioner.
